What is this thing anyway?
Simply, it’s a monthly collection of games from 10 developers all wrapped up in one package. That the developers get paid for! Up front and on the back end! There will also be a short digital zine with a page for each game. Creators are free to design their page to their own liking or submit text and pictures to be laid out for them.
The games are then sold through itch in a single (space provided) zipped file.
You will be paid:
UP FRONT: $20 USD
BACK END: 5% of sales (before anthology breaks even) | 8% (after)
Also, I claim no exclusivity or ownership of your games!
THEME!: None Really! Think of this as any extremely relaxed jam.
-Games can be made during the length of the ‘jam’ or any time prior
-Games can be of any theme
-Games can be of any length
-Games can be digital or physical (that can be distributed digitally)
-Games can play very loosely with the term ‘game’
-Any number of games can be submitted but each person can only occupy one slot.
That’s pretty much it. Everyone keeps ownership of all their stuff, this is mostly a way to give a platform (and money) to smaller and/or more unknown projects.
What if my game is selected (and how is it)?
After submission entries are curated, if your game is selected, you’ll be contacted and given a form to fill out to collect the materials for the magazine and anything else that may be needed. If you submitted multiple games, you will either: Be sent a message telling you which game was selected OR Receive no additional message and have your choice of bundling the games one entry/choose which game you’d like to be included.
The zine favors new contributors and will likely not repeat contributors for at least ~6 months.
This is the submission page for the Indiepocalypse capsule reviews! As part of the expansion of the Indiepocalypse zine I want to start including short capsule reviews for indie/old obscure games. Reviews should be 30~50 words long (though it could be shorter) and have one screenshot.
PAY: $10 USD
No proofs need be done here! Just link examples of your work and name to game you’d like to review.
What am I looking for?
I am basically looking for anything that in your definition constitutes a ‘review’. It does not have to be a traditional consumer review. So long as it feels at least adjacent to a review, it’s good! Also, I mentioned a length earlier but it could of course be shorter. It could even be one word long, provided it’s a very good word!
My own editing of the review will be relatively light-to-nonexistent.
This is the submission page for the Indiepocalypse comics artists! As part of the expansion of the Indiepocalypse zine I want to start including comics newspaper style within the zine. As of right now it would be a collection of 1~4 panel comics spread across two 8.5′ x 11′ pages.
PAY: $20 USD
Sizing: The two pages will be split as such
Page 1: 3 horizontal strips measuring approx. 8″ x 3.25″
Page 2: 3 vertical strips measuring approx. 2.25″ x 10.5″ OR 2 vertical strips measuring approx. 2.25″ x 10.5″ and 2 single panel comics measuring approx. 2.25″ x 5″
No proofs need be done here! Just link examples of your work. These comics need not even be new if they fit the format!
DOES MY COMIC NEED TO BE ABOUT GAMES?
This is the submission page for the Indiepocalypse zine-within-the-zine! As part of the expansion of the Indiepocalypse zine I want to start including single page zines within the larger zine. The zine would be a single page zine that people could print out and fold themselves.
PAY: $20 USD
No proofs need be done here! Just link examples of your work. These zines need not even be new if they fit the format!
