Great Detective RPG

UPDATE: The game play has since been extensively worked on and is now in a state more closely resembling complete. The game currently may use the open GUMSHOE system. As it currently exists there are early character sheets but they are mostly untested so the sample Mysteries are written so that they do not require players to have characters.

Great Detective RPG is a roleplaying game system that casts players in the roles of great detectives in the late Victorian period. Guided by a Game Master, players will use their own powers of deduction and investigation to solve Mysteries. Included here are two sample Mysteries designed for quick play. The finished project will contain more Mysteries as well as an extensive look at the mystery genre and how to build your own roleplaying scenarios from it.

I am currently working on a Great Detective themed RPG with Matt and at this point have made a short sample Mystery based entirely on the Sherlock Holmes short story, The Adventure of the Norwood Builder. Naturally the game is in a highly incomplete state and has changed much since this was made but people need to play the games you work on eventually.
